Update: seven weeks

The past week we’ve had a few normal summer days, when we didn’t feel like we were in London, England with lush green grass and drizzle. We’d then hurry to take advantage of those days to sit outside for breakfast or supper, and Marie-Hélène would join us, even if it was only to sleep… It’s bad enough that the weatherman (John Sauder) announced: “have sunglasses ready for at least part of Tuesday”.

The little one is growing, not just the general “oh, she’s growing!” but the “she’s GROWing”. Last week, she suddenly wanted to eat every two hours, throwing our routine out the window. Last Tuesday she weighed in at 7 pounds 4 ounces. In a week, a weight gain of 4 ounces is average. Today, she weighed in at 7 pounds 9,5 ounces. Now, that .5 of an ounce… she threw it up just before leaving in a nice gush on our couch. We’re two… one to clean the couch, the other to clean our baby’s hair and change her clothes.

But we love her to bits and she was the best smelling baby to grace the scale at the regional health authority.
