Because Christmas is fast approaching and it’s hard to believe, we thought a little injection of Christma spirit would do good. We bundled up Marie-Hélène and convinced the grandparents that seeing the Winnipeg Children’s Choir perform in Downtown Winnipeg’s Heart of the Holidays initiative, would be just the thing. And this, dear blog readers, is the entire Winnipeg Children’s Choir:
I had visions of a group akin to the Vienna Boys Choir. (Haven’t you heard of them? Their cassette was the theme of my childhood Holidays. Theirs and Rita MacNeil’s.) Obviously, my expectations were a little high for Winnipeg. They were adorable. Including the middle boy in the front row of short-haired boys, who couldn’t stop yawning throughout. But we were a captive audience:
And it was held in Winnipeg’s new Hydro Building of which I’m so proud… as though I designed it, and it belonged to me! But it doesn’t… instead it only gives me bragging rights, like “it’s one of the most energy-efficient buildings of its size in North America” – which wikipedia told me. And I’m all “way to go Winnipeg!”. All it needs is a bigger children’s choir.
