Suddenly, Marie-Hélène can’t stay still. Rolling isn’t enough, and sitting is boring. Booooorinnnnnggggg… Last week, Marie-Hélène was sitting in the top level of her playpen, beside Grandma and Grandpa’s dinner table, as they were eating supper, and she pulled herself to standing. And she was so proud of herself. She’s become very sticky… If we are ever within her arm’s reach she’ll stretch her utmost to grab us. Our hair, our pantleg… Then it’s all a matter of figuring out her legs. The little legs, like chicken thighs, so delicious and ticklish. And her feet, that after a day in socks, have their own innocent “toe jam” smell, as Christian calls it.
She can get insulted if we repeat her cries when she is tired. She gets excited to see herself at the end of the Peekaboo Kisses book. She likes blueberries, but turkey is the worst taste and texture ever. For the past week or so, she’s had her first cold. It sounds like this: cough, cough, atchoo.
She likes going outside, new noises but not the blender. And everything must be tasted, and hit, and drooled over. She’s so much fun! We love her to bits…
